Oklahoma 3A Cross Country Final Rankings 2020: Regent’s Girls Go 1-2 (Spelled ‘Reagent’ in the Poll)

The final 2020 3A poll, posted October 25th by a seven-person committee, got the girls right and the boys almost right — and it spelled the girls’ champions “Reagent Prep,” which is either a typo or a chemistry joke. The champions, correctly spelled Regent Prep, won the girls’ title with 54 points from the No. 1 slot. Boys’ poll: Kiefer No. 1. Champions: Marlow, 62 points, from No. 2.
The girls’ race was a Regent showcase: senior Natalia Cleveland won the individual title in 12:08.36, and teammate Micah Dickens was second in 12:12.21 — a 1-2 punch that powered the 54-point team title. When your top two go 1-2 at state, 54 points is just the receipt. The poll had them No. 1, misspelled but never in doubt.
The boys: Kiefer, Marlow, Rejoice Christian, Regent Prep, Marietta in the poll; Marlow 62 at state. Sixty-two points is a commanding win — the kind of score that says the poll’s No. 2 was the real No. 1 all along. Kiefer’s top ranking was the season’s rumor; Marlow’s 62 was the fact-check.
The rest of the girls’ poll: Marietta, Prague, Cascia Hall, Kiefer, Chandler, Sperry, Marlow, Adair, Heritage Hall, Hennessey, Lindsay, Dickson, Christian Heritage, Keys (Parkhill), Crossings Christian, Rejoice Christian, Washington, North Rock Creek, Lexington. Boys: Rejoice Christian, Regent Prep, Marietta, Bethel, Heritage Hall, Cascia Hall, North Rock Creek, Meeker, Heavener, Lone Grove, Sequoyah Claremore, Luther, Chisholm, Crossings Christian, Christian Heritage, Prague, Lexington, Purcell, Washington.
2020 3A: the committee of seven got the order right and the spelling wrong, Regent’s girls went 1-2 and 54, and Marlow’s boys turned a No. 2 ranking into a 62-point coronation. Even in the strangest season, the fast teams found a way.
