Ten Novembers, five classes, and a clear pattern: the 2010s in Oklahoma cross country belonged to the programs that turned winning into a habit. Here’s the decade, class by class, by the only stat that matters — state titles.

On the boys’ side, 6A belonged to Jenks with four titles — including a four-straight run from 2012 to 2015. 5A split between Deer Creek Edmond and Guymon with four apiece, a decade-long tug of war. 4A was Lincoln Christian’s personal property: five titles, including four straight from 2014 to 2017. 3A divided between Plainview and Marietta with three each. And 2A belonged to Hooker with five — the single most titles by any boys’ program in any class in the decade.

On the girls’ side, 6A was Bartlesville’s with three titles. 5A belonged to Bishop Kelley with three — the front half of a five-straight run (2017–2021) that bled into the next decade. 4A went to Tulsa Metro Christian with three. 3A was Marietta’s with four, extending a reign that ran from 2013 to 2016. 2A split three ways — Warner, Cordell, and Boise City-Keyes with two apiece — the only class of the decade without a clear ruler.

The individual stars of the decade: Ellie Gilbreath’s four straight 2A crowns (2015–2018), Cheyenne Walden’s four straight 6A titles (2013–2016), Gabe Simonsen’s three-peat to close the decade (2018–2020), Isai Rodriguez’s three straight (2014–2016), and Daisey Vanmeter’s three-peat (2013–2015). And the decade’s best poll story? Guymon’s 2016 5A boys — unranked in the final top five, state champions by 48 points. The polls spent ten years trying to predict November. November kept its own counsel.

The 2010s: ten years, five classes, and the dynasties won — the polls were just there to document the inevitable.
